HOUSTON, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Investigators searched on Wednesday a JetBlue passenger plane at Houston's Hobby Airport after a bomb threat.

According to local TV station ABC13, a spokesman for the airport said that a bomb threat was called in at about 12:40 p.m. local time on Wednesday for JetBlue flight 282 which was headed from Houston's Hobby Airport to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport.

Passengers and luggages were removed from the plane for re-screening while police bomb-sniffing dogs were also brought to the aircraft for safety checks.

JetBlue, an American low-cost airline and the 5th largest airline in the United States, also confirmed the threat in a statement, saying that after a potential security issue, the plane returned to the gate out of an abundance of caution. All customers and bags were re-screened and the aircraft has been cleared. The flight is scheduled to depart shortly.

This is the second bomb threat in the Lone Star state on Wednesday. Just before 11 a.m. local time, World energy giant Exxon Mobil's refinery in Beaumont, southeast Texas, also received a bomb threat.
