LOME, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The West African Development Bank on Wednesday said it has raised 750 million U.S. dollars through a bond issue on the international financial market.
The Togo-based bank, in a press release, said that the operation generated strong demand in registering 180 subscriptions for a total amount of 1.8 billion U.S. dollars.
The issue of the five-year bond, with a yield of 5.75 percent, had received offers from the United States, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world, according to the release.
The access to international financial market has enabled the institution to diversify and better secure its financing source, the bank said, adding the financing would enhance its operational capacity for the benefit of the regional economy. Enditem
