YANGON, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A breakthrough has been achieved in revising the framework for political dialogue between the government and the armed groups, official media reported Monday.

Tin Myo Win, chairman of the Preparatory Committee for Holding the 21st Century Panglong Ethnic Conference of Myanmar, made the announcement after a four-day meeting in Yangon which ended Sunday.

He said non-signatories to the Nationwide Cease fire Accord (NCA) would be invited again to participate in the framework review meeting to allow them to join the Panglong conference.

The 21st Century Panglong Ethnic Conference is expected to be held in late July or August.

The preparatory committee meeting has set a precedent for the review of the amendment to the framework of the political dialogue, aiming to attract ethnic armed groups who are yet to sign the NCA.

Myanmar previous government and eight ethnic armed groups out of 15 signed the NCA on Oct. 15, 2015.

Following the signing, a union-level Joint Cease fire Monitoring Committee (JCMC) was formed, along with a tripartite Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee which was to draft a framework for holding political dialogue as part of the implementation of the NCA.
