HONG KONG, June 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted South of the Fiji Islands at 07:02:52 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 523.02 km, was initially determined to be at 23.6535 degrees south latitude and 179.8507 degrees west longitude.
