Fujian Sturgeons lose to Zhejiang Lions, remain winless in CBA

ZHUJI, China, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Fujian Sturgeons suffered their 12th straight defeat after a 133-118 loss to the Zhejiang Lions here on Thursday and remained winless in this season's Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

Wilson Chandler rejoined the Lions after first playing for the team in 2011. The 33-year-old got 18 points and seven rebounds in his season debut.

Guard Sun Minghui nearly got a triple-double with a game-high 29 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. Center Hu Jinqiu and Miroslav Radulica contributed 21 points and 24 points respectively.

Center Wang Zhelin notched a team-high 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Robert Golden came off the bench to add 24 points for Fujian.

Leading by 33-22 in the first quarter, the Lions widened the gap to over 20 points in the second quarter after Chandler made a basket from the arc to make it 63-41 with about three minutes left, and led 72-50 at the half-time break.

Fujian stormed into a 16-5 run early in the third quarter with nine points from forward Chen Linjian and five points from Wang to cut the deficit to 11 points.

Then Sun came out strongly for the Lions, making a three-pointer and handing out an assist to help Zhu Junlong hit a three-pointer as well. The Lions obtained a 20-point advantage again after Sun made his second three-pointer in the quarter and led 100-86 going into the last period.

The Lions held a double-digit lead firmly in the fourth quarter, leaving Fujian with no chance to win. Enditem
