BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Congratulations are pouring in from around the world since Chinese President Xi Jinping was re-elected general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday.

In their messages, leaders of foreign countries, political parties and organizations also expressed their confidence that the CPC, under Xi's leadership, will guide China toward greater prosperity and a larger international role.

The following is an edited version of some of the messages.

Krishna Bahadur Mahara, a senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and deputy prime minister:

We are delighted to see your being re-elected as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era enshrined into the CPC Constitution as the CPC's guide for action.
