BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China's top disciplinary watchdog Monday named and shamed officials in six cases for lax handling and supervision of subordinates.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) released the names of nearly 20 officials whose subordinates were involved in cases including election fraud, inefficient investigation of public complaints, embezzlement and violations in promotions.
Most of the officials received a warning.
In one case, villagers from Daguan village in Anshui city, Guizhou Province, reported malpractice of their village Party secretary Qiu Jiming several times from May 2016, such as polluting drinking water and hampering the public interest.
However, local discipline inspection officials, Li Zhicheng and Liu Peizhong, did not put Qiu's case under formal investigation despite finding his conduct improper. They were given serious warnings by the Party.
The CCDI urged inspectors to be "iron-handed, fix their eyes on officials' dereliction of duty and continue to expose major violation cases in a bid to ensure effective supervision within the Party."
